The future lineup for Mercedes includes a Maybach SL, new AMG GT, CLE-class coupes and convertibles, and a redesigned E-class. Let's explore what to expect from these models.
In recent years, Mercedes-Benz has undergone significant changes, including the separation of its AMG and Maybach brands and the introduction of the EQ subbrand for electric vehicles. As the German automaker continues to evolve, more transformations are on the horizon. In this article, we will discuss upcoming models such as the AMG GT, Maybach SL, CLE-class, and the next-generation E-class.
2025 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe:
The next-generation AMG GT sports car is expected to be a hardtop version of the latest SL. With AMG taking the lead on developing the new SL, consolidating the two models makes sense. Spy photos of the AMG GT have emerged, and sources suggest it will feature a 2+2 layout with small rear seats, positioning it as AMG's primary rival to the Porsche 911. The AMG GT is likely to share the same 469-hp and 577-hp versions of AMG's twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 as the SL, with more powerful GT versions anticipated.
2025 Mercedes-Maybach SL:
Mercedes is also working on an ultra-luxury version of the SL roadster, which will proudly wear the Maybach badge. Expect a more opulent exterior and a significantly more luxurious interior. The Maybach SL's powertrain remains unknown, but it may feature a softer suspension compared to the sportier AMG SL55 and SL63 variants. Possible Maybach SL580 and SL680 versions could be offered, but it's uncertain whether the V-12 engine available in other Maybach models will be included.
2023 Mercedes-Benz CLE-Class:
The C-class and E-class coupe and convertible models will merge into a single nameplate, logically named the CLE. This new model is expected to fall in between the previous two-door offerings in terms of size, competing with vehicles such as the BMW 4-series and Audi A5. Spy photos have provided a first look at the convertible's design, while our illustration envisions a potential high-performance AMG version. The CLE-class is slated for debut later this year.
2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class:
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-class promises state-of-the-art technology, upgraded powertrains, and a refreshed design both inside and out. The turbo-four and inline-six engines are expected to continue, with potential increased hybridization for both the base E350 and E450 models. Hybrid powertrains will likely be integrated into future AMG models, as evidenced by the new C63's 671-hp plug-in hybrid system.
2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Variants As the two-door E-class coupe and convertible are phased out, only the sedan and station wagon versions will remain. The fate of the wagon in the U.S. market is uncertain, but we remain hopeful. Currently, Mercedes offers the E-class All-Terrain and the AMG E63 S wagons, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for similar options in the next generation.
