On the 30th anniversary of the Boxster concept car, Porsche unveils the most powerful mid-engined roadster to date: the Porsche 718 Spyder RS. This exceptional vehicle boasts the high-revving naturally aspirated engine from the 911 GT3, delivering unparalleled driving pleasure.
The new Porsche 718 Spyder RS stands as the pinnacle of the 718 mid-engined lineup, featuring a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine capable of reaching 9,000 rpm. With an output of 368 kW (500 PS) and 450 Nm of torque, the RS model accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, thanks to its short-ratio seven-speed PDK transmission. This powerful engine also drives the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racing car, delivering an extraordinary driving experience.
The vehicle's exterior includes a manually operated single-layer lightweight soft-top roof, striking tear-off edge, and balanced aerodynamics for maximum driving stability at high speeds. Inside, the sports-focused interior features full bucket seats made of lightweight CFRP, a grippy RS sports steering wheel, and an ergonomically designed selector lever.
With its road-optimized racing suspension, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, the 718 Spyder RS is engineered for maximum driving pleasure on winding roads. The Weissach Package is available as an option, offering even lighter forged magnesium wheels and additional performance enhancements.
The new Porsche 718 Spyder RS is set to make its public debut in June at the celebrations marking 75 years of Porsche Sports Cars in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, followed by an appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England.
